Biografia

Luigi Averna ha iniziato lo studio del pianoforte in giovanissima età sotto la guida di Emilia Miozzi, discendente dalla scuola di F. Busoni e alunna di A. Benedetti Michelangeli. Ha svolto una brillante carriera concertistica nelle più importanti città italiane contemporaneamente alla docenza presso i Conservatori di Musica di Torino e Napoli. Dopo l’incontro con V. Vitale, tra i più importanti docenti del XX secolo, ha completato i suoi studi attraverso l’innovativa scuola del Maestro ed ha sviluppato vivo interesse per la didattica pianistica. Ha tenuto delle masterclasses per la “Manhattan school of Music” di New York e per il “Conservatorio di Musica di Seoul” (Corea). E’ stato recentemente invitato a tenere una masterclass per il “Trinity College” a Melbourne in Australia.

Luigi Averna started studying piano when he was five years old. His teacher was Emilia Miozzi, who studied with Ferruccio Busoni and Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli. He gradueted with full marks and won the ”Sangiorgi” Prize. Very young, he won the International Contest “V.Bellini”, the beginning of his intense career in the most important italian cities and for the most prestigious Institutions. RAI 1 and RAI 2 recorded his concerts.

When he was 20, he met Vincenzo Vitale, and attented his International Course “Musical Holidays” in Rome and Venice, later becoming his pupil. During his career has riceived many gratifying reviews from the most authoritative Italian musicologist, such as Giulio Confalonieri, Mario Bortolotto, Giorgio Pestelli and others.

He gave master classes for New York’s “Manhattan school of music” and for Seoul’s “Korean Conservatory of Music”.

He teached in “G.Verdi” Conservatory of music in Turin and in “S.Pietro a Majella” Conservatory of music in Naples.
